Adobe always seems to blame it on the user's system specs and not acknowledge some possible issue on their end. I've already been on the adobe forums, and see many, MANY people having the same issue and I have not seen one of them resolved. There is always a lag of a few seconds before it plays, and it always drops frames and lags regardless. I turn off all fx, play at 1/8 quality, doesn't matter. And I am in the middle of a 1500 hour project, no way in hell I am reinstalling windows! Don't have time for that, nor can I risk my work in the project.

My CC installation was new install just days ago.
Lets talk about what in Premiere is causing this and what I can disable or enable to make it a functional editing program again. So please, let's not go through the typical "it must be your computer" stuff. Oh, and just clicking on the preferences from the menu, Premiere was frozen for about 5 minutes before it snapped out of it.Įverything worked fine until I "upgraded" to 21, nothing at all changed. Did this and rebooted, still way too slow to function. The only one I saw was to disable H264 decoding in the media settings.
And it plays back so choppy that I can't even do any work. It's just garbage! There is a delay of 5-10 seconds or more when starting and stopping playback of the timeline. Now I have cc 2021, and Premiere is absolutely unusable, it's so slow and laggy. Well, sent part of the project off to a third party to help with editing, received a 2020 file back from him, forcing me to update.

I am in the middle of a months long project on CC 2018 and didn't want to update in the middle of the project and risk issues.
